The Tyranid menace first came to the the Aleph Sector head on from the galactic south. Hive fleets Megalodon, and its splinters Morph and Triton ravaged the Enceladus subsector before being stopped first at Orvicare and Libria. Since then the major hive fleet to affect the region was hive fleet Nemesis, believed to have been accidentally created or diverted to the sector by members of the inquisition, the hive fleet ravaged numerous worlds in the Zadoc subsector before apparently disappearing into the cold voids of the Perseus Deeps. Elements of Nemesis reached as far as Hemera before the coming of the Cicatrix, and now the whereabouts of Nemesis and its status is unknown. The fear is that there is a huge hive fleet laying dormant in the Deeps.
To the galactic east the twin threats of hive fleets Ry'leh and Poseidon pose a more immediate problem. For now the Tyranids are being held back by the Orks and Imperium in the area, but should these forces be overwhelmed the entire Hadron Expanse would be vulnerable.
