Snazzteef advances south
While the Ultramarines were fighting hard against Chaos in the south it appears they were taken by surprise themselves in the north as Waagh!Snazteef overran Imperial positions before the Ultramarines could strike.Forced to attempt an ad-hoc defence of the northern front the Marines did their best, but it soon became apparent amid the chaotic retreat of a broken Tuva Army Group North (TAGN) that they could not turn the tide of the advance. They withdrew along with the Imperial Guard legions to the next line of hastily prepared defences.
