My Lords,
Herein is the requested analyticae report regarding the strategic dispositions of the Aleph Sector, faithful, heretic and xenos.
The Blessed Imperium of Mankind:
Imperial force disposition has been greatly hampered in the Aleph Sector by the continuing disagreement between Lord Inquisitors Vorushko and Hathek. Vorushko has styled herself leader of the "Crusade", while Lord Hathek has taken upon himself the role of leading "loyalist" forces. I shall not describe the source of disagreement here, however the fact that needs drawing to the attention of my lords is that currently there are two warring Imperial factions in the sector.
The Crusade:
++ATTACHED FORCES DOWNLOAD++: Carcharadon Astra: Sky Lords: Dark Angels: Grey Knights: Inquisition battlebarge "Lord of Light": Volscian Guard: Adeptus Mechanicus x/ref: Cybixx
The Crusade have significant holdings in the Perseus Deeps, having secured Bastien, Corticant and Parthenope and swayed them to their cause. They have also crossed into the Hadron Expanse and secured significant worlds: Hussaria and Awarath. In addition Archmagos Cybixx has established a major base at Vandrax in the Foramen Interdictum.
Overall their position appears strong, but they lack logistical supply lines and have suffered military reverses in the preceding months. They also lack the sheer numbers His Imperium can bring to bear on His enemies. The Crusade worlds in the Perseus Deeps are in particular vulnerable to assault from heretic and xenos forces.
The loyalists:
++ATTACHED FORCES DOWNLOAD++: Battlegroups Jellicoe, Barham, Pendragon, Enkvist: Novgorod Guard: Lycaon Guard: Last of Sycorax: Ultramarines: Space Wolves: Imperial Fists
Loyalist forces are aided by the support of Admiral Jellicoe's fleet. However Lord Hathek has been interfering at a strategic military level of late, and lack of overall strategic command with proper advice from the Adeptus Administratum and failure to adhere to the doctrines of the Tacticae Imperium should be noted with alarm. The loyalist forces are stretched to the limit everywhere. While they are present in all four key systems of the Foramen Interdictum they hold none, and the loss of Paradorn would lead to catastrophic consequences beyond the Cicatrix Maledictum. They have no major fortified bases in the Foramen, and no major supply centres in the Imperium Nihilis. They are weak everywhere, strong nowhere.
The "Alliance":
++ATTACHED FORCES DOWNLOAD++: Tau: cf: Skyfall, Malkaor: Federacy: Kel Sandros Eldar
I have grouped Federal, Tau and Eldar forces into one here, although while it is clear the Kel Sandros Craftworld are actively aiding the Tau and Federacy alliance, it is uncertain whether the eldar or Aeldari race are in fact united in this purpose. Previous history would suggest this is unlikely. The Alliance of at least these three however is extremely strong thanks to the actions of the Kel Sandros Eldar in opeining the Foramen Ancilla. How this was achieved is unknown, although Xenos tech is implicated. Nevertheless, the Tau now have a stable warp passage between their empire, the Federacy, and the Aleph Expansion Sphere - previously cut off beyond the warp scar.
The control of this pathway is key to the Alliance strategic strength, yet individually the Federacy is weak, and although the Tau have major worlds in the Zadoc Subsector, they are besieged at Echo Reach in the Hadron Expanse. However, it should be noted that the alliance overall position is extremely potent in the Aleph Sector.
Traitor Forces:
++ATTACHED FORCES DOWNLOAD++: Iron Warriors: cf: Stahl: Emerald Serpent: Death Guard: Word Bearers: Emperor's Children: Lord Tragean: Admiral Thok: Prophets of Sotek
The forces of the ruinous powers are by no means a united force with the same objectives, but of late they have been acting as such. Lord Tragean and Admiral Thok's victories in the Foramen have aided Warsmith Stahl in tightening their grip over the Tarlius System. The complete conquest of Tarlius looks likely, and Paradorn must surely be next. Analyticae report that a subsequent invasion of Imperial (Crusade) worlds in the Perseus Deeps would likely lead to catastrophic losses.
Unhnindered by the Cicatrix Maledictum, the forces of Chaos are equally strong in the Hadron Exapanse, where the forces of the thrice accursed Magnus the Red have already been encountered. The only saving grace thus far is that although not fighting one another, the disparate forces of chaos have not as yet focussed their efforts.
Other Forces:
++ATTACHED FORCES DOWNLOAD++: Orks: Rustoof: Necrons: Charnovokh Dynasty: Tyranids
Other Xenos are a lesser threat. The Necrons in the region are a shadow of their former glory, having been split asunder by the coming of the Cicatrix. However, they should not be underestimated, as they have unseen holdings and can transit across the sector by means the Adeptus Mechanicus do not fully understand. Their capacity for expansion would seem limited however.
The orks are an enduring threat to the Imperium. In the Foramen, they have been sighted in the Destino system, and in the Hadron expanse a new Warlord has emerged known as "Rustoof", who has succeeded in unifying the greenskins locally and holds a dominating presence at Oreen. Care should be taken with the greenskin race, as the emergence of a new Waagh! cannot be ruled out.
The tyranids have apparently vanished once more into the void, but the presence of Nemesis splinter fleets cannot be ruled out. Should one emerge at the wrong place and time, the consequences to the already thinly stretched Imperial supply lines would again be disastrous.
Overall message: The Imperium stands on a knife edge in the Aleph Sector: Present everywhere but fractured and disunited. I implore my lords to heed this warning and take charge of the situation before it is too late.
Adept Marceus. Administratum Analyticae
