Chaos Forces secure new headquarters

After the destruction of Stahl’s chaos base by the imperial fleet the imperial fists had information that the forces of chaos were well on their way in constructing a new one. This in itself wasn’t surprising, but intelligence reports suggested thousand sons in the region of the base. Live ones. Realising the importance of this information and without informing high command, the imperial fists immediately launched an assault against this new traitor force.

No sooner had they landed and deployed in attack formation, the astartes warriors soon realised the alarm had been raised. In the distance armoured vehicles and grav bikes were bearing down on the imperial force, signifying the presence of an army more than ten millennia old. An army of Thousand Sons from the heresy era were here, on Hexis. Traitor marines not affected by the Rubric of Ahriman once again marched against the loyalists of Dorn.

Reporting their findings to Inquisitor Vorushko could wait as the Imperial Fists charged their enemy. The loyalists fought well but were unable to land a telling blow on the traitor forces. After a brief and violent battle in the shifting sands the imperial marines withdrew, their seek and destroy mission ending in failure, but the knowledge that heresy era marines were once again active in the Aleph Sector caused grave concern within the ranks of the imperial fists. Clearly the warp anomaly that had been active previously in returning forces from the heresy was active once more. Perhaps reactivated once again by the shifting of the Foramen Ignotum, the astartes now had to decide how much of this information, if any, to divulge to the inquisition.
