The Sky Lords were not only beset by the forces of chaos in the catacombs under Hexis. Conducting their own secret mission the eldar stumbled upon the astartes as they were forced deeper into the underground labyrinth as they retreated from the World Eaters.
The eldar and space marine forces met in an underground generatorium, still active after millennia, and in the tight confines of the installation the eldar used their speed to outmanoeuvre the imperial force, although they took heavy casualties from the astartes wherever the marines could pin their foe down. Sergeant Alexandro led by example, charging three of the xenos interlopers and cutting them down with his chainsword.
Eventually the eldar decided enough was enough and fled the field, but their delaying action had prevented the Sky Lords from stumbling across extremely important work. Although the space marines believed they had triumphed over the xenos, in reality they had missed an opportunity to deal the eldar a painful blow.
