Shadow of war

It is the start of the 42nd millennium. The galaxy has been torn end to end by the Cicatrix Maledictum, and half the imperium now lies separated from the emperor’s divine light in the darkness of the Imperium Nihilis.

At the Easter fringe of the galaxy, far from holy Terra, lies the Aleph Sector. Here two paths through the Great Rift have already been found, or rather created by the reactivation of long dormant alien technology, and now the powers of the sector are converging on the distant and ancient system of Lysis, in the hope of creating, and controlling, a third passage.

On the barren sand blown plains of Hexis, amongst the ruins of the the city of Praxis, once the capital of the ancient and all but forgotten Bahotek Dynasty, the winds of war are growing stronger. the orks and worshippers of the dark gods have formed an uneasy pact, while the imperium, united once more, is sending its largest crusade force in years to take the system for itself. Meanwhile the alliance of the tau, eldar and Federacy are preparing their own invasion to bolster their own fledgling empire.

While the three factions prepare to fight fiercely for control of the secrets that lie beneath the surface, they can only hope that the sleeping evil in the catacombs remains in its slumber. The necrons are not gone, merely waiting. Waiting for their time to return.
