With the necron excavation site on Corticant at risk of another attack by aeldari forces, general veers was forced once again to call on astartes help. Realising the importance of the mission and learning from previous engagements, the White Scars in the Corticant system launched a new offensive to clear the eldar forces from the vicinity of the precious necron device, preventing the eldar from making an assault on the road that kept the fortified site supplied.
The White Scars advanced east of Bymarsh, harrassing the eldar forces occupying the settlement, before a dark eldar army moved out in numbers to meet the new threat. This time the White Scars were more wary, keeping their distance while firing their bolters and multimeltas into the enemy host, taking out their transports and fast elements. The skirmish intensified as the dark eldar were forced to employ their aerial units, which were then taken out in turn by the White Scars' heavy weapons. With the mobile units in the aeldari host taken care of, the astartes captain gave the order to charge, and a coordinated assault into close quarters fighting finshed off the dark eldar force.
With Bymarsh now surrounded, the remaining eldar in the settlement melted away, allowing Veers' regular army to once again take up positions in the now shattered and virtually uninhabited ruin of a city. However, its location on the spur of the plateau that hosted the excavation site, it remained of critical importance to the Imperium.
